You know how, some days, your head turns into some sort of mental jukebox, and plays random tunes to an empty bar?

Well, today, my internal jukebox has had three songs on repeat:

“Here comes that Sinking Feeling,”

“This City never sleeps,”

and

“Better to have Lost in Love”

All end-of album songs by the Eurythmics.

What’s that all about?

weekend

Monday, August 18th, 2008
Mine was a very good weekend, thanks for asking.

Friday - a result when work reminded me that, so long as I don’t actually HAVE to be here for anything, they’re happy for me to work from home occassionally. So, working from home will be an occassional happening.

Left the office @ 4:30 for a nice BTS, with a fairly early finish, which got me home at a decent time. But then I spent too long on PC, so was late to bed.

Still, early awake on Sat, and a day of chores and catching up:

  • Bought and installed Microsoft Money.
  • Put Norton onto my laptop.
  • Tidied up my iTunes
  • Cleared out a lot of sh1t from my Email a/c.
  • Laundry,
  • Some writing exercises I needed to do.
  • Nice Dinner.
  • X Factor
  • Bond.
  • Bailey’s.
  • Bed.

Sunday:

  • Early up, installed Citrix Client on my new pc so I can access the work servers from my back bedroom.
  • Took twenty minutes -why I put off doing it for 10 months, I do not know.
  • Badminton with D. Lots of laughs. Dripping in sweat. Loved it. Who knew I’d be so adept at batting away a (shuttle) cock when it’s coming straight at my face?
  • Lunch with our friends David and Clare and their two baby daughters Eleanor and Annabel.
  • Ellie and I ended up bestest buddies and she would only eat her spag bol if I fed it to her.
  • Last night, Ironing, watching Will & Grace, text-flirting with other men’s husbands.

And back to work. But not unhappily.
