Valley of the Trolley Dollies

• The first, slightly overcast tea-dance on leaving bergen. Sizing up the shipmates, loving the camper than camp gay disco remix of Enya’s Orinocco Flow that I predicted would be one of the holiday’s tunes. Asking DJ Barry to hook me up with a copy and getting one almost immediately (now how many DJ’s would do that?)

We travelled to Scandinavia, The Baltic and Russia with Travelpride, the cie des iles de ponant, bob, and larry.

We were photographed by Dennis Dean. He was a joy, the session was light and fun and what he wrote in the book that D bought me for my birthday was lovely. We kept our clothes on. At that point.

I think I look quite good in that first photo, although there are an awful lot of pics of me from the trip where I can clearly see the hint of madness in my eyes. Or gin. Probably the hint of gin, now I think about it.

The memories of the trip? Waaaaay to many to get down in one hit. It’s taken me a long time, to be honest, and there’s probably a couple of posts worth on them.
