Like Project 76’s Dan, i’m so used to Tweeting that I’ve almost forgotten what it’s like to write a whole paragraph. Still, here goes…
*********************************************************
Good morning you!
I had a great weekend.
Things I did included: A nice early night on a very rainy and mizzog friday (nothing better than falling asleep snug in yr bed while a storm rages outside.Well, there are one or two things….)
Driving to Bisley Saturday for my third shooting lesson. Getting there half an hour early, and driving on to the local Sainsburys to get breakfast. Discovering the local Sainsburys caff was absolutely packed with rugged ruffty tuffty squaddies in camo all getting very matey.
Finally ‘getting’ the shooting thing, and hitting my first bullseye, a five (v near the bull) two fours and a three (windage with a Telescopic sight is what i now need to learn). So pleased, and I got a round of applause too.
Lunch at a club for members of the SAS. Not Scandinavian airlines - the people who can kill you with a pipecleaner. The burger was underdone, but I didnt like to say anything…..
Hanging out with Carl and Stu and Ellie afterwards and having a lovely lovely time, feeling very special and proud to be part of their family.
A workout on Sunday that was INTENSE and left me exhausted for the rest of the day. The exhaustion may have been helped by the workout I had in bed before hitting the gym, but we’ll let that rest…
Going to lunch at Browns and having a lovely slow roasted lamb on black pudding with crisped bacon. No idea why this worked, but the only complain was that there simply wasnt enough.
Seeing Yukio Mishima’s Mme de Sade starring Judy Dench (Regal, assured, polished, actorly), Rosamund Pike (translucently beautiful, assured, but lumbered with one or two very VERY wordy speeches that left her stumbling to fit all the wordsinwithoutapause and so made the meaning a little unclear at times), and Frances Barber (showstopping; comedic genius; and a very VERY good - natural - actor). Brilliant play (if wordy) great sets, wonderful lighting, costumes to die for, and a very nice afternoon all told.
Taliking to my parents for ages. Missed that last week, so nice to do this week.
Starting to pack for New York next week.
Quality time with D and lots of snuggles.
And all done to a soundtrack of current Swedish Pop Tunes.
Now back a t work. For a rest…
