Point # 1 - when dealing with Bankers, Lawyers or other ‘clever’ people, read the contract.
Point # 2 - Read the contract.
Point # 3 - Have you read the contract? Re-read it again; get a friend to read it for you as well.
Point # 4 - If you’ve paid out money that you weren’t contractually obligated to do, do not go, cap in hand, and say “Can we have it back, please.” It simply shows up your idiocy and gullibility. Neither of these traits are things you really want in the public domain next time you go into negotiations with Bankers, Lawyers or other ‘clever’ people.
Point # 5 - Did I mention: Read the contract.
Point # 6 - If you’ve failed to read the contract, accidentally paid out too much money, and been told where to go when you ask for some of it back, please do not try using the words “Moral,” “Morals,” “Morally,” or “The right thing to do”. These are Bankers. If they had Morals, the third world wouldn’t be filled with five year old making t-shirts for tuppence, and the phrase “Financing an Arms Deal” would be gibberish to all but the mentally ill.
An analogy: You pick up a fit blonde at a bar one night, she lets you take her home, and treats you to a night of bliss. No strings. You get to Fuck her brains out for one night, and next morning, it’s adios.
Two weeks later she turns up at your front door and gets all “We should be together, ‘cos MORALLY, it’s the right thing to do.”
