bouncin’

I BOUNCED INTO WORK THIS MORNING

No, really, physically BOUNCED into the office.

I actually DANCED across the forecourt at London Bridge with Gloria Estefan on the pod, and a spring in my step, and a really really nice feeling. (well, a quick skip, shuffle and rhtyhm change, but it’s dancing compared to the usual commuter plod!)

Something, I guess, to do with the intense workout last night, the lovely glasses of wine and bitch party with my oldest mate, the series of comical and increasingly bizarre texts between myself and my friends on the way home, and the fact that my husband, as I got undressed for bed, glanced across and, with two raised eyebrows, said “My, that workout worked. You look good…”

Awoke at 4:15 today, for what promises to be the busiest two days of the summer so far - lots of clients in for schmoozing and training - had cuddles before the alarm went off, and, like I say, I FEEL FANTASTIC.

Now, let’s see how long before the universe fxcks it up…. 8)

So, a colleague from the Middle East has his American Born wife staying with him while he’s on a business trip.

She wants to go book shopping (he can only read - for pleasure - his own language or Spanish, although his spoken English is impeccible).

“Where can she go book shopping,” he asks me, and, in my lunchtime I take a mental trip back down what was once my favourite street on earth. Still a place I like strolling down, but it’s true that time - and the vagaries of the publishing industry - have sort of de-magic-ified* it (with apologies to Greg Maguire)…

Been off sick for two days. From work.

My whole life is all about work and strive and effort and strain and, occasionally, mindlessly drunk release from the reality….

But you know what I mean.

And so there’s little to mention here, apart from the depression I’m fighting…

And there we let it rest. This is a place for the public sharing of stuff we’re comfortable with. Stuff which makes us uncomfortable ends up in the reals of the  mysterious crest-of-the-valley-of-the-trolley-dolleys, and we don’t talk of it…

So, today, my second day of sick leave, has been all about helboy the first on dvd, cancelling me never-used-cos-i’m so busy- subscription to lovefilm.com- and finally listening to my complete and utter history of Round The Horne.

Which explains the headline, and is, quite frankly, the best series of sketches ever recorded.

Ever.

Ever….
