Saturday, a few friends, a warmish day that got quickly cooler, and a determination to spend time in the garden, meant we ended up handing out the fleeces / sweaters / hoodies quite early. Still, people came, hung out, and enjoyed themselves. I know I certainly did. I’d spent the week previously, building an iPod playlist designed to reflect my Catholic musical tastes, and to provide a little something for all my guests. By the time I tried to put it into some sort of play order on Friday night, it was 24 hours long, and I sort of gave up. “Shuffle Songs,” D said. “Bit of a problem if it spits out some of the really weird stuff on my pod,” I replied. “It won’t,” he advised, hiding the box of donuts before my personal trainer arrived, “Trust me.” And you know what? He was right. Mainly. Below, thanks to those lovely people at Last.fm is the list of tunes the pod played on the night. Not shown is a selection from the 3121 album by Prince, some Tina Charles and some Neil Diamond later in the evening, as they were on CD (and singalong). And those Catholic tastes? Not so evident here, but proof that the pod knows you better than you know yourself…
