Hello Again.

Hey there! It’s me. Remember me? I used to post stuff here.

Good stuff. Stuff like reminiscences about how we met, why we got married. Poignant little entries about the little fears and doubts that sometimes assailed me. reviews of theatre I had seen, songs I lked, books I’d read.

But lately, it feels like I’ve been just coasting. We went on our Long Awaited HoneyMoon ™, and since I got back, apart from the utterly brilliant weekly serial “Once upon a Murder”, there hasn’t been much of any… substance.

See, here’s what happened: We went to Australia and New Zealand (and don’t worry; the pictures / videos are coming), and when we got back, we both got sick with the flu that was going around. This resulted in us just schlepping our asses to and from work, and not actually doing much of anything else.

We had a couple of weekends where we just sat around the house in generic snot-encrusted flannel pyjamas as opposed to the usual Prada Leisure Suits and Manolo Mules, and a couple more where we had guests and there just wasn’t enough time to focus.

Work, for both of us, got nightmarishly busy, and then we had some ‘issues’ at home (for ‘issues’ read ‘the credit card bills turned up’) which caused a little depression to descend on yours truly.

But now? All that’s changed. Spring is here. it hasn’t been a long winter at all - quite the opposite, and spending the best part of a month in the tail end of the Antipodean summer made it even shorter. But I’ve never felt more energised by the arrival of the British spring - the sun is shining, the weather is warm enough for me to wear what the Americans refer to as a “Sports Coat” to work, instead of the usual snot-encrusted donkey jacket Prada overcoat, and I’m feeling excited about a whole lot of stuff.

There’s the aforementioned Holiday videos. One already on YouTube and due to be linked here very shortly. More to follow.

There’s the previously named utterly brilliant weekly serial “Once upon a Murder“, which started off as just a Friday Fiction piece, and has taken on a life of its own that is just fantastic, and filling me with enthusiasm for writing fiction again.

There’s a Masterclass on ‘How to get Published’ at the LBF this weekend (if my ticket ever turns up), and a course on the art of the Query letter that he found for me.

There’s an upcoming visit by Mere and Pere Valley Boy, which always produces some interesting events.

There’s a trip to see ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman’ at the Donmar.

And there’s a Scandinavian cruise that has been described as having the potential to be like a cross between Dead Calm and La Cage.

There’s rediscovering so much of my music collection now that my PC is, once again, a destination worth visiting, thanks to them.

There’s Tchaikovsky Adagios and Philip Glass and Early Roxy and Ultra Nate doing ‘Automatic‘ for the noughties (complete - I swear - with Gay Porn stars inthe vid; what’s the target market, Ult?). There’s Infernal’s new single, and a forthcoming BWO album, and so. Much. Mor to look forward to.

So, like a Butterfly coming out of it’s cocoon (Or a moth out of the larval stage), I am most definitely coming Out.

Here comes the summer…

It’s good to be back.
