mobsters

So, the background: Before Christmas, my brother rings me. “I’m bidding on something on EBay, and the auction closes in fifteen minutes, but I’m stuck in traffic. Can you log on and make sure I won. Bid up if needed,” and he gave me the maximum bid he was willing to go to. We won the auction (hooray) and that was that.
Cut to yesterday, when I suddenly realised  that I hadn’t left feedback on the seller’s EBay account. Those of you familiar with EBay will know that that’s a real no-no.

So I Email my bro. “Did the EBay book arrive yet? Let me know so I can go and leave feedback so they don’t get the EBay Mafia on to me (they don’t send you a dead canary; just a HTML link to a page where you can bid on a dead canary).”

I’m now living in fear that the Cosa Nostra will put a hit out on me. Of course, the contract is sure to go to the highest bidder, which is nice to know. Wonder if there’s a reserve set?

miracle

Click for a miracle. I know, I know…

In other news, last night’s Life Club was a really interesting way to spend an evening. Can’t say much about it, because, apparently, the first rule of Life Club is that, whatever happens in Fight Life Club stays in Fight Life Club.
Sometimes, I think, when you’re in a canoe going down the rapids, you need to take the couple of hours out of the flow to realign yourself, figure out where you are, where you’re supposed to be heading, and how you plan to get there. That’s what Life Club was like: A chance to sit down under a tree for a few minutes, look at the map, and pick your route.

And D and I actually agreed on the stuff we want to get started on first, which has to be something of a miracle in itself. We will be back.
It’s all on here, you know, folks: Personal awareness, Self Help, Religion, love and Terrier’s arseholes. What more could humanity ask for?

be willing

Be willing to achieve what suits your heart
Be willing to begin leaving your mark
Dig out your buried treasure
Your work of art
And nothing will ever stand between
Heaven and your heart

Be willing to attain your freedom from
Hatred and bitterness then carry on
A masterpiece of promise is what you are
And never let nothing stand between
Heaven and your heart

Be willing to forgive an oversight!
Be willing to explore what doesn’t bite
Fearlessness is a fountain
That redecorates the dark
And nothing will ever stand between
Heaven and your heart
