revolutions

This is not the time for worthless statements of intent. Intended, always, to fail. This is, rather, as good a time as any for the setting of goals. To whit:Health. I will lose a pound a week. For the next six weeks. Any more is a bonus. Any less, make it up in the next week.

Wealth. Why pretend we’ll reduce the ‘national’ debt. Lets’s just keep it to the current levels.

Success. My current job requires me to maintain my sanity in an area of insanity. And that’s placing it mildly. So, I’ve alreay started the ball rolling. And, if you haven’t seen my CV, you have no idea how big the ball is; nor how far it as to roll. So, if it rolls nowhere further than the far side of my desk, so-be-it: Do better, and if you can’t do better, Do the best where you are.

Art: I’ve written two novels, half written a third, and produced a selection of short pieces, poems, lyrics, sketches, and other worthless efforts. Worthless, because, I’ve made them, polished them, showed them to people who were pre-disposed to love them, and then done nothing else with them. TSo, if I have one goal, where my writing is concerned, this year, it’s that, by the end of it, I’ll have one of the following: Either a selection of rejection slips, or an acceptance slip.
Time to put it out there, and fail or succeed, but time to do something….

Revolutions. They change things. They change people. Time for a few mini revolutions…..
