Listening to the original London recording of ‘Chess’ by Andersson/Ulvaeus/Rice on the pod this morning, and these lyrics came up. Somehow, they seem as apt today as they did 22 years ago. More so, perhaps…

boozy

Quite the boozy weekend.

Friday: Post work libaitons with the Barcelona Temperance Society. A few beers, then home to see ‘Jam & Jerusalem,’ the new one from Jennifer Saunders. I liked it. Episode one, very promising. Not AbFab, of course, which is the problem - The temptation to do a John Cleese (he enver wrote another sitcom after Fawlty Towers) must be immense. Whatever you do, someone will complain that it’s too different/similar, not as funny/intelligent or whatever. It’s got too many characters in it for a traditional sitcom, but I see it as more of a ‘grower’ and have very high hopes.
